Student Work from ART 435: Interactive Design Studio
PROJECT 1: Human-centered App Design
After identifying a prospective user, students conduct user research and then develop the concept for a location-based mobile app that their user would find useful, usable and desirable. They create a task list and then develop a paper prototype to explore ways that the mobile app could help a user complete these tasks. They brand the app (name and icon), design the interface, and develop a high-fidelity, interactive prototype.
PROJECT 2: Interactive Edutainment
Following an activity-centered approach to interaction design, students develop concepts for interrelated products that are both educational and entertaining for young children. They incorporate personas into the process to inform design decisions. Students brand the activity and create prototypes of the products, including an iPad application.
